Hot Café and Cocoa Drink Recipe

This drink is like a café mocha from Starbucks but a little gentler on the coffee side of things. Instead of a pump of chocolate syrup, this recipe adds actual milky hot chocolate to your coffee. The results are pretty delicious.

For something less caloric, simply leave out the whipped cream and chocolate shavings.

INGREDIENTS

  • 2 cups strong coffee
  • 1 cup milk
  • 4 tablespoons hot chocolate powder
  • whipped cream (optional)
  • chocolate shavings for garnish (optional)

INSTRUCTIONS

Heat the milk in a small pot over medium heat until it starts to simmer. Whisk in the hot chocolate powder and continue to whisk until completely dissolved. Remove from the heat.

Divide your hot coffee between two large mugs. Pour half of the hot chocolate into one mug and the remaining hot chocolate into the other mug. Stir well. Top each mug with some whipped cream and chocolate shavings. Enjoy while warm.
