French Blonde Cocktail

Prep Time Cook Time Serves
5m 1 cocktail

This is one of my favorite classic French cocktails. I recently discovered the elderflower liqueur St. Germain and have been trying it in all sorts of cocktails ever since. It has a delicious flavor that pairs nicely with both gin and vodka. Definitely worth a try!

INGREDIENTS

  • ½ ounce St. Germain liqueur
  • 1 ounce gin
  • 2 ounces white lillet
  • 2 ounces grapefruit juice
  • lemon rind for garnish

INSTRUCTIONS

Pour all ingredients, except the lemon rind, into a cocktail shaker filled with ice. Cover with the lid and shake vigorously for at least 20 seconds. Strain into a cocktail or martini glass. Garnish with a piece of lemon rind and enjoy immediately.

This cocktail was inspired by a recent trip to Paris. Check out the video below to watch my first attempt at “liquid gastronomy”!

COOK'S TIPS

I love to serve cocktails at home. The French Blonde is a great one for large groups because you can pre-mix all the ingredients in a pitcher and keep it in the fridge. When it is cocktail time, you simply pour the pre-mixed cocktail into your shaker filled with ice, shake and serve. No messy measuring of ingredients as guests wait.
