Ginger is one of my favorite food ingredients and this cocktail really lets the delicious ginger spiciness shine. Paired with pomegranate juice, lime and sugar syrup, this cocktail has a great balance of flavors. Between the ginger and pomegranate, you might even start to think it is good for you!

  • 1/2 inch piece fresh ginger
  • 1 ounce fresh lime juice
  • 2 ounces pomegranate juice
  • 1 1/2 ounces gin
  • 1/2 ounce simple syrup
  • rosemary sprig and pomegranate seeds for garnish

Peel and quarter your piece of ginger. Place in the cocktail shaker with the lime juice and muddle so the ginger pieces start to break down.

To the shaker, add the pomegranate juice, gin and simple syrup. Fill with ice cubes and with the lid securely on, vigorously shake for at least 20 seconds. Strain into a low-ball glass. Add ice and a sprig of rosemary and some pomegranate seeds for garnish.
