Mulled White Wine Recipe

In Europe they love their mulled wines. Most Christmas markets will have a vendor selling just that. It is one of the things that instantly gets me into the holiday spirit. Mulled wine is typically made with red wine but I have decided to switch it up a bit and try it with white wine instead. It works really well.


  • 1 bottle dry white wine
  • 4 tablespoons honey
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 2 cloves
  • 2 orange peels (remove all the white pith from the peel)
  • 5 peppercorns
  • 1 star anise


In a heavy bottomed large pot over medium-high heat, combine all of the ingredients. Bring the wine to a simmer and then turn the heat down to low and leave for 25 minutes.

Remove from the heat and strain into a heat-resistant pitcher or glasses. Enjoy while warm.
