Warming Winter Coffee Cocktail

This coffee will warm you right up during the cold winter months — it’s the perfect drink to sip by the fire. I like presenting it in these clear goblets so that you get a nice contrast between the warm brown color of the coffee and the stark whiteness of the cream.

INGREDIENTS

  • 8 ounces dark roast coffee
  • 1 ounce coffee liqueur (such as Kahlua)
  • 4 ounces heavy cream, lightly whipped

INSTRUCTIONS

Divide the warm coffee between two glasses. Add half an ounce of Kahlua to each glass and stir. Top each glass with the lightly whipped cream. To create a separate layer of cream on top of the coffee, pour the cream slowly into the glass over the back of a small spoon. Enjoy while warm.

COOK'S TIPS

Feel free to mix this recipe up a little — for example, add an ounce of your favorite whiskey to give it an extra kick, or substitute the Kahlua for an irish cream such as Feeney’s . You should also feel free to adjust the amount of cream if you prefer less.
