Nutella-Stuffed Chocolate Chip Cookie in a Skillet Recipe

Craving some chocolate chip cookies but don’t have much time? This chocolate chip cookie in a skillet is a great way to satisfy your craving in less time. Adding nutella to the middle of the cookie is not necessary, but boy is it delicious! For more nutella-based desserts, check out my recipes for nutella twists and nutella walnut bars.

INGREDIENTS

  • ½ pound (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • ¾ cup light brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs, lightly beaten
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • ½ cup nutella
  • Vanilla ice cream, for serving (optional)

INSTRUCTIONS

Preheat the oven to 350˚F.

In a large bowl, stir together the butter and both sugars with a wooden spoon until well combined. Add the eggs and vanilla and stir until smooth. Fold in the flour, baking soda and salt until just combined, followed by the chocolate chips.

Using an offset spatula, spread half of the dough into the base of a 10-inch, cast iron skillet. Spread the nutella over top, leaving a ½-inch border around the outer edge. Spoon the remaining dough on top and spread so that all the nutella is covered the top is smooth and even.

Bake in the oven for 20 – 25 minutes, or until the top of the cookie is just starting to brown and the edges are pulling away from the pan.

Cool before slicing. Enjoy with vanilla ice cream, if desired.
